Apple Card was originally announced at Apple’s March event, alongside their other products such as Apple TV+ and Apple News+. Apple Card plus is Apple’s foray into the credit card industry in partnership with Goldman Sachs, which is also new to consumer finance.
A credit card is not something new to the public, but Apple has made sure that the design of the card stands out. According to the company, the card will follow the minimalistic style. Its weight is about 14.75 grams. On the front of the card is your name, a debossed Apple logo, and a chip. The back features a normal credit card stripe, a Goldman Sachs logo, and the MasterCard logo. Apple Card comes in an all-white sleeve with a rainbow pattern on the inside. The card does not feature any number on both sides, which might give you more security. If you want to see the number, you can access the Wallet app.
There is no annual fee so the public might have an incentive to switch to Apple Card. Apart from that, Apple also offers some rewards if you purchase with the card often. On purchases from Apple, including Apple Stores, iTunes, the App Store, and more, you’ll earn 3% back. Anytime you buy something using Apple Pay, you’ll get 2% back, and every other purchase earns you 1%
- 3% – Get 3% back on everything you buy from Apple, whether you buy it at an Apple Store, apple.com, the App Store, or iTunes. That includes games, in‑app purchases, and services like your Apple Music subscription and iCloud storage plan.
- 2% – Get 2% back every time you buy something using Apple Pay. That’s in every category, with no limits. Imagine all the things you use a credit card for every day — at Target, Walgreens, Lyft. You’ll get 2% back on just about everything.
- 1% – If you happen to come across a store, website, or app that doesn’t take Apple Pay yet, Apple Card still gives you 1% of your purchases back in the form of Daily Cash.
A nice offer from Apple is that there is no point conversions or rotating categories to keep an eye on. Your Apple Cash account will get Daily Cash at the end of each day.
Interest Rates And Approval Odds
When it involves the applying course of, stories have advised that it solely takes about 1 minute to really apply for the cardboard. This is as a result of Apple pre-fills a lot of the applying with knowledge out of your Apple ID. Once you’ve accomplished the applying, you’ll obtain an immediate resolution usually.
And about the approval odds? A source said that a person with a credit score between 600 and 700 might be approved with a credit line of $1,000.
This means Goldman Sachs may approve lots of customers for the Apple Card. However, if the credit score is low, you might be subjected to a higher interest rate and a tighter credit line.
Upon approval, you can access the virtual Apple Card immediately, and Apple will mail your titanium card within one to two weeks.
Since the physical card will have no card number on it, you will have to access the Wallet app to see it. Users can also generate a new card number for each online purchase
If Apple thinks the charge is fraudulent, users will receive notifications allowing them to approve the transaction or report a problem. When users need to report a fraud, they can do that by texting via the Messages app.
Apple said that it would not use your credit card data for marketing, as many other companies are doing:
At Apple, we firmly believe in your right to privacy. That’s why we created a unique architecture for Apple Card that generates things like your transaction history and spending summaries right in the Wallet app on your iPhone.
Of course, Goldman Sachs will use your data to operate Apple Card. But they will never share or sell your data to third parties for marketing or advertising.
